CWSP prepared me for my future career regarding my personal growth and development of transitioning into adulthood. By working within CWSP, I was able to mature faster and gain relevant work experience related to the field of finance. I have been able to build a strong connection with Crescent Capital Group and they were willing to continuously support my academic efforts throughout my college journey. With that, they allowed me to intern every summer at the firm, to now be able to come back and have a full-time position as a Research Associate on the Capital Markets team.

CWSP completely change my perspective on what I could possibly achieve in this life. Prior to stepping foot at Payden, I had only ever seen corporate spaces on television shows and movies. To me, these places didn't exist. Once I began working at Payden, I knew that it was possible for me to do so much more in life than I had originally imagined. I was no longer constrained by my ignorance. They Payden community immediately saw my potential and cultivated it. They provided me with a safe space to overcome my imposter syndrome and instilled in me the belief that I belong here. Eduardo Pablin, '16

CWSP gave me an advantage that a lot of my peers didn't have: work experience at an early age. Most people don't begin to gain work experience until after they graduate high school or college. By the time I graduated from Verbum Dei, I had enough work experience to be offered a position at Loyola Law School. Not only did I have the work experience, I gained trust and relationships here at Loyola Law School. CWSP helped mold me into the kind of employee I am now, which has coninued to open the doors of opportunity time and time again. I've been at Loyola Law School for a little over 10 years now, but I can gladly say my experience hasn't been stagnant. I've been elevated/promoted numerous times, and there is still room for me grow and prosper here.Colin Goward, '11

My CWSP experience is the sole reason that I'm in the field I'm in. My industry is built on maintaining and supporting relationships. Learning to navigate prospective clients in the finance industry at my CWSP placement was the best learning lesson I've had.Dominique Jordan, '09

In CWSP, I interned for the team I currently work with. It is safe to say that without the Verb I would not be where I am now. The team helped me explore my interest in the finance industry. This was very beneficial as I kept in touch with my supervisor post-graduation and developed many other connections that I still have today. This same connection is the reason I was able to return to the company as a full-time employee. If I didn't have the mentors/supervisors from my placement, I would never have discovered how much I was drawn to the finance industry.Alexander Velazquez, '14

My CWSP experience exposed me to the professional workplace and gave me the confidence to pursue a career in finance. During my time working at my placement, I was exposed to opportunities in business financial services, met Georgetown alumni, and mentors who helped me achieve my career goals. The advice I would offer to current Verb students would be to focus on your academics and CWSP, and don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it. Also, enjoy your time as a student and take advantage of learning as much as possible.Carlos Mercado, '09

Having the opportunity to be exposed to the law field at such a young age was extremely helpful in preparing me to some day apply to a graduate or professional school program. I was able to collaborate, interact with, and learn from partners, attorneys, and paralegals; all doing work I could one day imagine myself doing. Today, as a junior in college, I feel much more equipped to seek out a grad school or professional program and, ultimately, a career in public service. I am grateful for the skills and network I've gained from my CWSP experience.Jesus "Paco" Estrada, '20
