Admissions Process

• All applicants are required to take the High School Placement Test (HSPT).
• After submitting your application, you will receive instructions to register online for the test.
• On the testing day, arrive early, bring pencils, and be ready to show your admission ticket or confirmation email.

Transfer applicants are exempt from the HSPT exam.

• Selected applicants and their parents/guardians will be scheduled for a personal admissions interview.
• Interviews are an opportunity to share more about your student’s academic background, interests, and goals, as well as to learn more about the mission and values of Verbum Dei Jesuit.
• Interview times will be provided by the Admissions Office once your application file is complete.

Evaluation form

• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75.
• Students must be on track to graduate on time and college ready.
• No more than two classes may require remediation.
• Students cannot require more than two independent study sessions to meet graduation requirements.

• No significant behavioral challenges or disciplinary issues.
• A strong attendance record with no excessive absences or tardies.

Parents/guardians must consent to:

• Potential job placement restrictions within the Corporate Work Study Program.
• Covering any costs related to make-up courses or additional academic requirements.

Students must:

• Successfully complete the Summer Readiness Program.
• Participate in all required spiritual retreats and formation programs.

Midyear Transfers: While we encourage students to transfer at the beginning of the academic year, we do accept midyear transfers.

Senior Transfers: Verbum Dei traditionally does not accept senior transfers. However, we will consider applicants on a case-by-case basis in extenuating circumstances, such as relocation (outside a 20-mile radius) or prior enrollment in a Jesuit or Cristo Rey high school.
